History

Incorporated by 6 local men on January 15, 1920, NWI has consistently made the adjustments necessary over the years to remain profitable in the competitive woodworking industry.  What has kept us so successful is our versatility in manufacturing cabinets to fit your need, instead of you selecting from standard units.  These standard units make it necessary to "blank in" wall areas where cabinets do not fill.  NWI can design cabinetry that provides a usable space for your entire wall area.  

NWI was formed to make items from wood, although over 90% of our business involves the use of particleboard covered with a plastic laminate surface.  This allows a more stable and cost effective material which is attractive and durable, yet unique in every aspect.  

NWI is equipped to do its own laminating, which consists of purchasing the substrate and laminate separately and joining the two with adhesives.  The edge banding of parts is also done to fully enclose the units in laminate.  Much of our precision work is done with the aide of advanced automated machines that operate at the touch of a button.  This process has increased both productivity and quality over the years.
