Specifications
A. Cabinet Joinery:
Hardwood
dowel constructed joints utilizing the 32 mm system.
B. Surface Requirements:
1. Plastic Laminate Casework: Exposed
Surfaces: Vertical grade high pressure laminate.
(Surfaces visible when drawers and opaque doors are closed;
behind clear glass doors; bottoms of wall cabinets; tops
of cabinets less than 78" A.F.F; interiors of open
shelving cabinets without doors.) Semi-Exposed
Surfaces: Thermo fused melamine. Cabinet liner on back
surface of doors and drawer fronts. Pre-finished particleboard
on base cabinet sub-tops, and interior sides and bottom of drawer
stack case bodies. (Surfaces which become visible when opaque
doors are open; drawer "box" components.) Concealed
Surfaces: Mill Option. (Surfaces not visible after
installation.)
2. Wood-Faced Casework: Exposed
Surfaces: Plain sliced red oak. Semi-exposed
Surfaces: Thermo fused melamine. Pre-finished
particleboard on base cabinet sub-tops, and interior sides and
bottom of drawer slack case bodies. Concealed
Surfaces: Mill Option. C.
Thickness of Cabinet Components: 1/2"
for drawer "box" sides; 3/4" for drawer
"box" front and back; 1/2" for drawer
bottom; 1/2" for cabinet back, 1" for adjustable
shelves spanning more than 36"; 3/4" for all other
cabinet components. D.
Cabinet Doors and Drawer Fronts: Particleboard
with vertical grade high pressure laminate face and cabinet liner
back. Drawer fronts applied with screws. Wood-faced
casework uses plain sliced red oak MDF with vertical grain on doors,
horizontal on drawer fronts is standard, or matching vertical grain
on doors and drawers available. Draw fronts applied with
screws. E.
Drawers: Back
and sub front doweled and glued to sides. Drawer bottom housed
4 sides with continuous hot melt glue bead at perimeter. F.
Cabinet Backs: Housed
4 sides with continuous hot melt glue bead at perimeter. G.
Bases: Individual
and attached on base cabinets. Shipped loose for jobsite
installation for tall units. Rubber or vinyl base covering
furnished and applied by others. H.
Countertops: 3/4"
particleboard with countertop high pressure laminate top and
edges; balance sheet on underside; hardwood front edge
substrate on self-edged countertop; banding of the bottom on
post-formed countertop front edge is available. |
